A Philadelphia native, Sara Painter grew up listening to Prairie Home Companion, and loved the stories, the different voices, and using her imagination to fill in the gaps left by the absence of scenery, costumes and movement. She is drawn to the Radio Play style because of the challenge to use voice and sound to create entertainment for audiences and enjoy the resurrection of this lost art. It is both simple and complex; the microphone can be your best friend and worst enemy, as there is nowhere to hide it requires restraint at the same time complete commitment to character choices. Playing multiple characters in the same scene is one of her most amusing talents!
