About
Radio Live Arts is an experiential audio company based in Philadelphia. We work in a variety of modes: live performances at small venues, online and at-home audio experiences, and custom commissions built for the room they’re in.
The project came out of a love for spoken-word performance, audio drama, and the old-time radio plays of the 1930s and 40s, and a desire to push it further. What ties it all together is the love of the medium itself: audio storytelling.
What we make
The flagship work is live performance — immersive readings and original audio theater performed in front of an audience. The work is small, deliberately. We value an intimate connection.
The Listening Room is the catalog — finished, standalone pieces you can take with you. Performance recordings from live shows, original audio dramas built to be listened to like albums, and interactive pieces made for online or at-home participation. Some are straightforward storytelling. Some are doing something the form hasn’t been asked to do yet.
The Journal is the serialized work — original audio drama released as a subscribable podcast, alongside written companion pieces that sit with it: essays, scripts, notes from production, conversations about what we’re trying to do. The audio is on its own feed; the writing is there to read when you want to go deeper. Both arrive on their own schedule.
Custom productions are bespoke pieces commissioned by organizations — team offsites, brand events, conferences, museum openings. We come on-site, design audio that’s tied to your specific space, and produce the experience end-to-end. If you’ve been to an immersive theater piece and thought “we should do that for our team,” that’s the conversation.
